Leave the washer door open after every cycle to prevent mold, mildew, and musty odors from developing inside the rubber gasket. Get a clip to keep it open
Clean the dryer lint screen before every single load to maximize airflow, reduce drying times, and prevent dangerous home fire hazards.
Once a month, run a hot water cycle using Affresh tablets, then clean out the drum with a towel to wipe off any mildew
Wipe down the rubber door seal with a damp cloth monthly to remove trapped hair, lint, and stagnant puddle water.
Vacuum out the dryer lint trap slot and venting pipe annually to remove deep-clogged debris that the mesh screen misses.
If you have a frontloader, open and clean the filter in the front (bottom) of the washer every few months.
Pull off and wash the removable detergent dispenser drawer regularly to clear out crusty soap and mold growth.
Wipe the moisture sensors inside the dryer drum with rubbing alcohol periodically
Inspect and clean the exterior dryer vent hood outside your home to ensure the exhaust flap opens freely.
Dry the inside folds of the rubber door seal with a microfiber towel after your final laundry load of the day.
Clean the tiny mesh filters inside the water inlet hoses annually to prevent slow filling caused by sediment and mineral buildup.
Slide the entire washer away from the wall once a year to sweep away accumulated lint and dust from the rear motor vent.
